This workshop aims to contribute to an economically sensible, independent, sustainable and environmentally friendly European energy and climate policy. Participants will include members of the Council of Ministers, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States, MEPs, DGs of the Commission, State Ministries, industry, associations, NGOs, etc.
The event is promoted by IBB Netzwerk GmbH, the Bavarian network organization for Industrial Biotechnology and sustainable economy, which for the past 11 years has been engaged in technology transfer, location marketing and public relations work in these fields.
During the workshop, the advantages of advanced biofuels and CO2-based fuels for the European economy, agriculture, the environment and the climate will be critically presented and argumentatively substantiated. In addition, the potential of advanced fuels (bio- or CO2-based) in Europe will be discussed with representatives from politics, business, science and other social groups.
The first part of the workshop will highlight examples of recent technologies and approaches for bio- and CO2-based fuels. There will be speakers from a large number of different developments across Europe in the field of advanced fuels, both from industry and from the academy. After the break, in the second part the environmental aspects will be illustrated, followed by a discussion with policymakers, company and academy representatives, as well as representatives of NGOs.
A representative of BBI JU will provide an overview of BBI JU, its objectives and its achievements so far, and participate in the discussion.
